DELTA QUEENS FC STARTS FEDERATIONS CUP RACE WITH A WIN
ASABA)The Delta State Female FA Cup Champions Delta Queens FC, Asaba has began their run for the FA Cup at the national level with a 2-0 win over Osun Babes.
In the match played at Ijebu-Ode, The Nigeria Women Premier League side capitalized on opportunities in the first half to seal the game.
Maryann Ezeanagu opened scoring for the Okowa babes in the nineth ( 9" ) minute to bring her goal for the team this season to two While Ikhekua Oghenebrume put in another in the forty fourth ( 44") minute before the end of first half and brought her goal tally to three for the club in two games played so far for the season.
On resumption of play in the second half, the scoreline remained the same and the game ended 2-0 in favour of Delta Queens.
Speaking shortly after the match, the technical advicer, Coach George Emenetie noted that it was a sweet and well deserved Victory, he commended Osun babes for putting up a good fight but hailed the ressilliense in his girls.
"The team is happy to acheive this. The team has a target to win a trophy this season, we just started and we are sure we will acheive it."
"That we defeated Osun Babes does not mean they are not good. They are a good side and a name to reckon with in female Football but i give it up for the Delta Queens ladies for the Win"
He said the Victory is a collective acheivment starting with efforts from the CEO/GM, Henrrientta Eriabor and other technical and managent staff of the team.
Delta Quuens Fc, Asaba are current Female FA Champions in Delta State and Five time Champions at the National level.
