NWPL COMMENCES AS DELTA QUEENS DRAW RIVERS ANGEL IN GROUP A: CEO/GM, TECHNICAL CREW CONFIDENT OF TOPING GROUP......
ASABA)With the commencement of the Much awaited Nigeria Women Premier League, NWPL, 2018/2019 league season on July 17th, 2019, Delta State back to back FA Champions Delta Queens Fc, Asaba have been drawn in group A alongside rivals Rivers Angels as well as
Fc Robo and
Osun babes fc.
The announcement followed a NWFL Annual General Meeting which held in Abuja on Thursday June 27.
Delta Queens will open the NWPL 2018/2019 league with an away fixture against Osun babes at the Osogbo City Stadium on match day 1 billed for July 17th while Match day 2 encounter (24/7/2019) will see them host Rivers Angels.
Match day 3 encounerter (31/7/2019), pairs the Okowa Babes at home to host FC Robo.
On the commencement of return leg fixtures, Match day 4, Delta Queens Fc will hit the road to lock horns with Fc Robo while in Match day 5, they will host Osun Babes before heading for an away return leg fixture with Rivers Angels in Match on day 6.
Following the tight and though Schedule, the General Manager and Cheif Executive Officer, Delta Queens fc, Henrrientta Eriabor has called for greater commitment both from Players and Management.
" We are happy the league is commencing July 17th.The schedule is out and we are drawn in Group A along side Rivers Angel, Fc Robo and Osun babes."
" Its a tight schedule, there is no victor or victim outside each 90 minutes of play so we are taking every game time very seriously."
For his Part, The Technical Adviser of the Delta Female side, Coach George Emenetie said training has commenced intensively with his technical collegues giving their best and hoping to top group A as just one team makes it to the next stage in each of the groups.
" We intend to start picking results from the start cos its quite very tight. Any mistake leaves u at the mercy of results from your opponents and we dont want to get in to that mathematics."
"Our first game is an away against Osun babes. We defeated them recently in an Aiteo FA cup encounter, we are hopeful we can do it again but we wont take any team for granted."
Delta Queens Fc, departs the state Capital on Saturday June 29th to Owerri For a reshedule FA encounter against Bayelsa Queens.
