NWPL 2018/2019 SEASON:DELTA QUEENS PREPARES FOR LEAGUE AFTER FA SEMI FINALS LOSS TO RIVERS ANGELS .
The Chief Executive Officer,CEO, Delta Queens Fc, Ehiabor Henrrientta says the club is now focused on getting the best out of the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Premier League NWPL set to kick off July 17th 2019.
Speaking in a Delta Queens - Rivers Angel post match interview in Abakaliki, the Delta Queens CEO said it was unfortunate her team crashed out to a one nil defeat after putting up a wonderful performance.
She however assured that all is now set for a full launch in to the league with the Deltan side drawn in group A alongside Rivers Angel, Osun Babes and Fc Robo.
She hailed the Tonibok Okowa led sports Commission for providing the necessary support, not leaving out her technical and management team as she called for all hands to be on deck ahead of the 2018/20189 NWPL season.
" God took us thus far, we give him the glory, u dont win all the times, our quarter finals game against Bayelsa Queen was tough and near win and we won but against Rivers Angels the case was different. It ended in a 1-0 narrow loss."
"Our focus is now on the league soon to commence. I must commend the Tonibok led sports commission as well as the team's management and Players for the spirit of moving on" the soft speaking CEO added.
The Technical Adviser of the side, Coach George Emenetie was also optimistic as the league begins.
"The players have been wonderful with the FA journey so far, they started with a 2-0 win over Osun babes, a 3-1 knock out of defending Champions Bayelsa Queens before falling narrowly to Rivers Angel who we shall meet again in the league"
Meanwhile the teams Goal keeper and Skipper Ihuoma Onuegbu who made two saves to see her side beat defending Champions Bayelsa Queens 3-1 in their quater finals game, assured of the players commitment ahead of the league.
"We can not duel in a loss. We are out we are out. Thats the game of football. We gave our best and bowed out gallantly, our focus is now the league and we are most committed to offer our best."
The Delta Queens will on Wednesday July 17th 2019, take on Osun babes at Osogbo in their match day one encounter in the about to commence 2018/2019 NWPL.
