NWPL: GM, COACH AND PLAYERS, DELTA QUEENS SAY NO DISTRACTIONS....

Ahead of the  the 2018/2019 Nigeria Women Premier League NWPL set to kick off July 17th 2019, the General Manager Delta Queens Fc, Ehiabor Henrrientta  says the club is very focused on getting the best of the season.

The Delta Queens  GM, assured that all is now set for a full launch in to the league with the Deltan side drawn in group A alongside Rivers Angel, Osun Babes and Fc Robo.

She hailed the Tonibok Okowa led sports  Commission for providing the necessary support, not leaving out her technical and management team as she called for all hands to be on deck ahead of the 2018/2019 NWPL season.

"Our focus is now on the league soon to commence. I must commend the Tonibok led sports commission as well as the team's management and Players for the spirit of moving on"

"Delta Queen has a name in women football in the country and that name we stand to defend"

The Technical Adviser of the side, Coach George Emenetie on his part, says the team is not relenting on working and playing for wins  as the league begins.

"The players have been wonderful. They did well and we got the semi finals in the federations cup."

"They started with a 2-0 win over Osun babes, a 3-1 knock out of defending Champions  Bayelsa Queens before falling narrowly to Rivers Angel who we shall meet again in the league which is our next focus"

Meanwhile the teams Goal keeper and Skipper Ihuoma Onuegbu who made two saves to see her side beat defending Champions Bayelsa Queens 3-1 in their quater finals game, in the federations cup ,assured of the players commitment ahead of the league.

"We can not duel in a loss. We are out we are out. Thats the game of football. We gave our best and bowed out gallantly, our focus is now on the league and we are most committed to offer our best."

The Delta Queens will on Wednesday July 17th 2019, take on Osun babes at Osogbo in their match day one encounter in the about to commence 2018/2019 NWPL.

FEDERATIONS CUP:DELTA QUEENS CRUSH BAYELSA 3-1, QUALIFIES FOR SEMI FINALS

OWERRI)The Delta State representatives in the Female Federations Cup on Sunday came from a goal down to knock out defending champions Bayelsa Queens 3-1 in a fierce and tention soaked quarter finals encounter. The Delta FA defending champion went down one nil in the 3rd minute of play courtesy of a free kick strike from one time Delta Queens Player Shaeed Adebisi . The early lead gave the Bayelsa Queens an edge over the Okowa babe who battled from behind for the rest of the first half. Hope was however restored later in the Second half when Ezeamagu Maryaan converted a Penalty for Delta Queens who controled the whole of the second half but failed to convert chances that came in between.
