Better Package for The Nigeria Women Premier league

Owerri)Clubs in the Nigeria Women Premier League have been advised to pay all outstanding players salaries and give priority to Players welfare or riske being sanctioned.

According to a communique signed by
Mr Joe Amene, Chairman, Henrietta Ukaigwe, member
and Emmanuel Zira- Secretary, Communique Drafting Committee of the 2019 NWFL,The advice formed part of the communique reached at the 2019 Nigeria Women Football league Annual General Congress which held in  Abuja.

At the congress, a commencement date for the league was fixed for July 17th, 2019,With the League now to be played on an abridged League format basis of 4 clubs each in 4 groups.

Winners Of each of the four groups will play a super 4 to determine the overall winner of the 2018/19 league season and the last team in each of the 4 groups will go for a play off to determine the 2 teams that will be relegated to the pro -League at the end of the 2018/19 league season.

The move they say is to make up for lost time and to also properly fund the indemnities of the season.

The NWFL Chairperson briefed the congress on the technical support Programme and the bi-lateral agreement signed with La-Liga to develop the Nigeria women Football League, with an arrangement to have the winner of the 2018/19 NWFL league season travel to Spain on an arranged international tournament, which will be on a yearly basis.

In the course of the congeess, there was also  the approval of caution fees for the 2018/19   League season to be N5,000 for yellow card and N10,000 for Red card and all indebted Clubs are given a grace period of up to 10th of July , 2019 to pay up fully or be expelled out of the league.

The  Congress climaxed with a vote of confidence on the Aisha Falode led Board of the NWFL

Present at the congress was The President of the NFF Who was ably represented by the 2nd  Vice Prrsident of the NFF, Mallam Shehu Dikko in the company of the Chairman of Chairmen, who is an Executive Board member of the NFF, Alh Ibrahim Gusau and some State FA Chairmen and the Chief Executive Officer anf General Manager Delta Queens fc, Asaba, Henrrientta Eriabor.
